MANAGING DIRECTOR

Pavan Johal offers a wealth of aviation experience to clients seeking safety management improvement. She holds a strong academic background and is a visiting lecturer at City University for the global MSc Aviation programmes. Pavan has the key ability to listen and understand client needs; she has strong theoretical and practical experience of SMS & FRMS and good overall knowledge of aviation operations from grass roots to the board room. She is an excellent communicator who brings strong business acumen to her advice, thinking and perspectives.

Pavan is an accredited ICAO Accident and Incident Investigator and was a finalist in the first Innovation in Aviation Safety Management Awards made at the European Safety Symposium. She is a safety professional with passion around the areas of effective safety interventions and sustaining change in aviation risk management. Consults and advises in the development and embedding of safety risk management into organisations, through workshops, diagnostic tools, data analysis and promotion of best practices. Strategic, management and technical expertise to advise and provide organisations with clear pictures of effective safety interventions in their safety management systems. Training and facilitation skills in Safety Management Systems, Fatigue Risk Management Systems, Safety leadership and Safety Culture, Human Factors, Just Culture, Error Management and Investigations.

Pavan held a senior management position as Safety Manager for Titan Airways responsible for leading and managing the implementation of an effective Safety Management System, developing in-house tools for safety management, undertaking risk assessments, conducting investigations, safety training, safety auditing, safety data analysis and liaising with the CAA. Pavan also held the position of Head of Aviation Risk Practice for RTI, consulting and training Aviation clients globally.

Prior to Titan, Pavan had working periods with easyJet - Luton and Airbus - Toulouse. Pavan also held the role of an executive board member for the UK Flight Safety Committee and is currently a member of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
